Followers of Indian religious leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh throw stones at security forces during clashes after the controversial guru was convicted of rape in Panchkula, Aug. 25, 2017. Getty photo, via CBS NewsA lot of people in the US, where I live, have a lot of preconceptions about India. Many of them view that country through the lens of some of its most famous figures … in particular, Mahatma Gandhi. There’s no doubt that Gandhi left his mark on the world; he instigated India’s independence from British rule, and in the process showed that civil disobedience and non-violent resistance could change history. A lot of Americans, therefore, tend to view India as a land of pacifists.

It’d be nice if the world’s second-largest country by population were actually a collection of pacifists, but that’s not so. I don’t say that to denigrate India. I only say that, because that’s just how humanity is: Pacifism, in the long run, is the exception rather than the rule — by far! An example of how things really are in India made itself evident, as CBS News reports, just a few days ago, with catastrophic consequences (Archive. Is cached article):

At least 30 people were killed and more than 200 injured in violence in the two Indian states of Haryana and Punjab after a court convicted a spiritual guru of rape, incensing his loyal followers to riot.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted Friday of raping two women 15 years ago, but an estimated 100,000 of his followers had already gathered in the town of Panchkula, in Haryana, ahead of the verdict.

The violence left at least 30 people dead and more than 200 others wounded, Haryana state government officials told CBS News.…

When the guilty verdict was announced, the gathered members of Singh’s sect clashed with police and paramilitary forces, set several buildings and part of a gas station on fire and attacked television news crews. Several government offices were also reportedly vandalized by followers of the so-called “godman.”

This “guru” is extremely popular, and influential, in spite of the charges against him or (now) his conviction:

In a show of strength, the guru, who heads the powerful Dera Sacha Sauda sect, arrived to court in Panchkula on Friday in a 200-car cavalcade. He has featured in a number of self-produced movies where he has played the lead character, of a messiah.

India is home to many gurus like Singh, some of whom amass followings in the millions, and who become incredibly wealthy in the process.

I suppose these “gurus” might be a rough equivalent of American megapastors or televangelists … perhaps. Maybe. At any rate, it’s sickening to see this kind of religious loyalty turn into mayhem and death. Americans’ visions of India as a paradise of deep, abiding spirituality clearly is unjustified. As I’ve said many, many, many, many times … all metaphysics is liable to lead to extremes. All of them! No matter what kind. It’s as inevitable as death and taxes. Many people erroneously think religious extremism comes only from the Abrahamic religions of Islam and Christianity. It’s true those two do lead to a lot of militancy and violence … but that doesn’t mean other religious milieus, such as the dharmic faiths that saturate India, don’t lead to extremes, either.

'Allahu FUBAR' / PsiCop original graphicIf you haven’t figured it out by now, much of the Muslim world — though certainly not all of it! — is, essentially, infantile. They’re mired deep in centuries of religionistic immaturity and they just refuse to grow up, because they think their al-Lah has granted them exclusive license not to have to grow up, and they think it’s up to the rest of the planet to accommodate their hyperjuvenile nature. The latest issue of Charlie Hebdo, with its Muhammad cartoon cover (which includes the incredibly uplifting message “All is forgiven”), has — both sadly and predictably — set off violence around the planet among Muslims who just can’t handle it. Here’s a selection of reports on the mayhem, death and destruction:

  • BBC News: Charlie Hebdo: Niger protesters set churches on fire (WebCite cached article)

At least three people have been killed and six churches attacked in Niger amid fresh protests against French magazine Charlie Hebdo’s cartoon depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

Protests began outside Niamey’s grand mosque and reportedly spread to other parts of the country, a day after five were killed in Niger’s second city.

  • Reuters: Protesters clash with Pakistan police near French consulate (cached)

Pakistan police fired tear gas and water cannon at about 200 protesters outside the French consulate in the southern port city of Karachi on Friday when a demonstration against the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo turned violent.

  • USA Today: ‘Hebdo’ protests turn violent in Muslim nations (cached)

Angry reactions to the cartoon triggered street demonstrations as wide-ranging as several hundred people gathering on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Friday to slogans chanted by Muslim activists in Hyderabad, India.…

In Jordan, the Muslim Brotherhood organized a crowd of 2,000 protesters who clashed with police in the capital of Amman as they moved toward the French Embassy. Police used batons to break up the gathering.

Terry Firma over at the Friendly Atheist provides a catalog of many more such incidents from around the world.

Oh, and … Jyllands-Posten's Muhammad Cartoons, #10 (Jyllands-Posten, via About.Com) / URL: http://middleeast.about.com/od/religionsectarianism/ig/Muhammad-Cartoons-/Muhammad-Cartoons--10.htmwhile we’re on the subject of the Muslim world’s approach to depictions of Muhammad … can we please just fucking stop already with the bullshit objections that Islam doesn’t forbid such things (cached)? Effectively it does forbid them — because millions of Muslims clearly believe it does, and because a lot of them are willing to riot, maim, burn and kill over that belief! Don’t tell me, or the rest of the occidental world, that riots like this are un-Islamic. It won’t do any good. If these raging clowns are wrong about Islam’s teachings on the subject, it’s up to other Muslims — who are clear on the matter — to rein in and discipline those who disagree and coerce them to stop this childish, riotous shit already. And they need to do it before someone else gets killed. The rest of the world simply can’t wait any longer for these overgrown children to start acting like mature adults.

As I always do when stories like this erupt, I’m including a gratuitous Muhammad cartoon in this post. The more these fucking Islamist crybabies rage and riot, the more I’ll post them. If there are Muslims out there who don’t like it … the solution is to grow up, calm down, and stop going up in flames over them all the time. It’s just that simple.

And one last comment: It’s time the White House stopped evading the reality that atrocities like those in and around Paris, not to mention beheadings by ISIS/ISIL/IS/whatever-the-fuck-you-want-to-call-that-barbaric-brood or massacres of villages by Boko Haram, aren’t examples of “Islamist terror.” They are exactly that; refusing to use that phrase just makes the administration look like total clowns. Yes, I get it’s mostly the Right-wing that objects to the White House’s refusal to call it that (cached). And they have an agenda in making this complaint; mostly it’s because they’re Christianist Neocrusaders trying to bolster their own religion at the expense of what they consider their chief rival religion. Still, just as even a broken clock is correct twice a day, they’re correct on this point. Sugar-coating it helps no one. This particular kind of atrocity is — at the moment — a product of how a lot of Muslims follow their religion. Other Muslims who disagree with them are, for better or worse, the only ones who can correct them. Implying that Islam isn’t a problem here, or that it’s not a factor in this barbaric violence, won’t help, because it relieves those moderate Muslims of the task of correcting and disciplining their presumably-wayward co-religionists. Perhaps it’s not fair to them, but that’s just the way it is.

Hat tip: Friendly Atheist.

Comments Comments Off on Once Again, The Muslim World Goes Up In Flames Over Cartoon

Pakistani police officials examine the burnt out houses of members of the Christian community in Lahore / AFP/Getty Images, via The IndependentOnce again, I have to report on yet another example of “the Religion of Peace” displaying its true colors for the world to see. The (UK) Independent reports a mob of Muslims — enraged by the possibility that someone had dared dis their almighty prophet — threw a colossal, violent tantrum, ripping through a neighborhood in Lahore, Pakistan and burning down a hundred buildings (WebCite cached article):

Hundreds of people in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore ransacked a Christian neighborhood today and torched dozens of homes after hearing reports that a Christian man had committed blasphemy against Islam’s prophet, said a police officer.…

The incident started yesterday when a young Muslim man accused a Christian man of committing blasphemy by making offensive comments about the prophet, according to Multan Khan, a senior police officer in Lahore.

A large crowd from a nearby mosque went to the Christian man’s home last night, and Khan said police took him into custody to try to pacify the crowd. Fearing for their safety, hundreds of Christian families fled the area overnight.

Khan said the mob returned today and began ransacking Christian homes and setting them ablaze. He said no one in the Christian community was hurt, but several policemen were injured when they were hit with stones as they tried to keep the crowd from storming the area.

I must congratulate the world’s Muslims on their ability to keep up their angry, violent religionistic immaturity. It’s an incredible achievement. Well done! You all must be so proud.

Oh, and it’s behavior like this that makes the rest of the world sleep so well at night, knowing Pakistan has nuclear weapons at its disposal. Yep, it’s positively heart-warming and reassuring to know this. No doubt!

Comments Comments Off on Religionistic Immaturity Rages On In Lahore, Pakistan

Newsweek's 'Muslim Rage' cover photo, via the Los Angeles TimesThe Muslim world continues to impress the planet with its reasoned maturity and calm demeanor.

Or, maybe not … !

It seems a lot of Muslims are still violently furious over “Innocence of Muslims,” a movie that had been specifically produced and promoted precisely in order to enrage them. The latest expression of their fury happened in Tehran, Iran. Since they no longer have an American embassy to attack — due to their own past actions — Iranian mobs cast about for another to assault. According to the AP via ABC News, they chose to launch their sanctimonious rage at the French embassy (WebCite cached article):

Dozens of Iranians angered over an anti-Islam film made in the U.S. and caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad published in a weekly in France have attacked the French Embassy in Tehran.

Please, by all means, Muslims, continue raging and fuming and stomping and beating and burning and killing over a movie. Please, don’t stop on our account. Absolutely it’s necessary for you to do all of that … and more. After all, none other than al-Lah himself requires it of you. You simply must keep it up until there’s nothing left for you to attack. Nothing less than all-out annihilation of anyone who dares “dis” your prophet could satisfy your al-Lah.

As alwaysCover of Charlie Hebdo, newspaper in France. Speech bubble reads "100 lashes if you don't die of laughter!" — as a reminder to Muslims to stop calling attention to things they don’t like, and to give them a reason to let their outrage fester — I’m adding a gratuitous Mohammad cartoon to this post. Enjoy!

Listen up, little children who call yourselves Muslims, and figure out what the Streisand effect is. Most of the planet would never have heard of “Innocence of Muslims” if you hadn’t pitched fits, rioted, rampaged and killed over it. Your juvenile behavior single-handedly caused a lot of folks to find out about something they’d never otherwise have known existed.

Say it with me, and say it slow, so that you can absorb it: It’s. Time. To. Fucking. Grow. The. Hell. Up. Little. Crybaby. Muslims. OK? The rest of us grown-ups would appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Protesters set a cinema ablaze on Friday in Peshawar, Pakistan. Violence there began early, and two people, including a television station employee, were killed. Mohammad Sajjad/Associated Press, via the NY Times.Apparently the Muslim world hasn’t gotten over the fact that a Neocrusading Coptic Christian crank apparently dared make a movie that dissed their Mohammed. The New York Times reports that mobs of Muslims in (where else?) Pakistan have decided that wanton slaughter is a useful way to deal with that fact (locally-cached article):

Violent crowds furious over an anti-Islamic video made in the United States convulsed Pakistan’s largest cities on Friday, leaving up to 19 people dead and more than 160 injured in a day of government-sanctioned protests.

It was the worst single day of violence in a Muslim country over the video, “Innocence of Muslims,” since protests began nearly two weeks ago in Egypt, before spreading to two dozen countries. Protesters have ignored the United States government’s denunciation of the video.

It all started with good intentions, you see. The Pakistanis had organized this nice, peaceful protest in which everyone was supposed to sing Kum Ba Ya or something, but it seems to have gotten just slightly out of hand:

Peaceful protests had been approved by Pakistan’s government, which declared Friday a national holiday, the Day of Love for the Prophet Muhammad. The move was part of an effort to either control or politically capitalize on rage against the inflammatory video, which depicts Muhammad, the founder of Islam, as a sexually perverted buffoon.

Exactly how the Pakistanis went from having their gentle holiday with a peaceful protest, to slaughtering people all over the place, is a complete mystery.

At least, the Times doesn’t bother to explain it. Unlike them, I can explain it. It’s called “religiously-propagated cultural immaturity.” Time for Pakistanis … and the rest of the world’s Muslims … to fucking grow the hell up for the first time in their sniveling little lives.

Image by Lars Vilks published in Nerkes AllehandaJust in case Muslims need to be goaded into pitching more fits, I’ve added a couple of incendiary cartoons to this post. You guys really need to get hold of yourselves. Remember: I can keep this up just as long as you can. And you know what? Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoon, via Assyrian International News AgencyThere’s absolutely nothing you can do to stop me. Rage and riot all you like … but these, and other pictures that may offend you, aren’t going away. Ever.

Comments Comments Off on Muslims Continue Rioting And Killing Over Anti-Islam Movie

NBC News / Protesters clash with security forces after setting a fire at the German Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, on FridayRaging and rioting continue across the Muslim world in the wake of the release of a Neocrusader’s Youtube video that’s supposedly insulting to Islam and its founder. NBC News reports on the irrational, childish fury which is rapidly engulfing the Muslim world (WebCite cached article)

At least seven people were reported to have been killed Friday across the Middle East and Africa in protests over the anti-Islamic video that led to a deadly attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya this week.

The unrest was centered mainly on U.S. embassies, but other targets also came under attack, including embassies and other outposts of Britain, Germany and the U.N.

Please read the whole article to see for yourself the lengthy catalog of Muslim mayhem and bloodletting. The sheer amount of rage is staggering, and so far, it’s cost seven lives.

Yes, folks, in the eyes of Muslims, seven people absolutely had to fucking die, because some Neocrusading Christianist crank in California dared make a movie that dissed their religion.

Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoon, via Assyrian International News AgencyFor all you raging Muslims, here’s a little something more for you to stamp and fume about: As usual in cases like this, I’m turning up the heat a little more, by posting these Muslim-offending cartoons, published by Jyllands-Posten back in 2005.

Please enjoy! Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoon, via Assyrian International News AgencyOh … and while you’re at it, try to learn the lesson of the Streisand effect.

Boo fucking hoo, all you little crybaby Muslims. Rage and bluster all you want … but these aren’t going anywhere.

Comments Comments Off on More Rioting, Rampaging, & Killing Over Anti-Islam Video

Agence France-Presse / Getty Images, via the New York TimesIt’s been in the news all day … rioting at the U.S. embassy in Cairo (cached), and a deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya (cached), all supposedly because of an anti-Islam movie produced by someone in California. The trouble with all of this news is — it might not be so. News outlets like the New York Times are beginning to report that at least the Benghazi murders might not have been caused by the inflammatory video, after all (WebCite cached article):

The Obama administration suspects that the fiery attack in Libya that killed the American ambassador and three other diplomats may have been planned rather than a spontaneous mob getting out of control, American officials said Wednesday. …

The attack at the compound in Benghazi was far more deadly than administration officials first announced on Tuesday night, when Mrs. Clinton said one American had been killed and one injured.

Another of those killed was Sean Smith, an information management officer who joined the Foreign Service 10 years ago, Mrs. Clinton said in a statement. The State Department did not identify the other two, pending notification of their relatives. Mr. Smith, who was a husband and father of two, previously served in Iraq, Canada and the Netherlands.

This is in contrast to the rioting in Cairo which may actually have been triggered by the video’s insult to Islam and its founding prophet:

The protesters in Cairo appeared to be a genuinely spontaneous unarmed mob angered by an anti-Islam video produced in the United States. By contrast, it appeared the attackers in Benghazi were armed with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades.

I have no doubt that America’s Neocrusaders will use both the murders in Benghazi and the riots in Cairo as “evidence” that Islam is violent, evil, and must be stamped out. They’ll say, “See? Islam isn’t ‘the Religion of Peace’ after all!” The trouble is … that’s precisely what this movie was designed to do! It was purposely incendiary, and even some of those involved in making it claim they’d been deceived by its producer (cached). And his biography appears to be leakier than a sieve (cached).

Let’s be brutally honest: It doesn’t take rocket science to realize this Youtube video would send some Muslims up in flames. After all, the mere threat of burning copies of the Qur’an had caused thousands of Afghans to fly into a murderous rage. We already know Muslims aren’t culturally mature enough to handle any kind of critique of their religion. We didn’t need this movie to prove it. So what, then, did this movie accomplish?

Abso-fucking-lutely nothing whatsoever! All it did was cause raging and rioting that need not ever have happened.

But while the producer of this movie bears at least some moral responsibility for this … since it appears he went into this expressly desiring this particular result (cached) … it’s also true that no one can incite a riot unless there are other folks ready, willing and able to take the bait and start rioting. In other words, this “Sam Bacile” did not put a gun to the heads of these rioters and force them to go on a rampage. The rioters in Cairo went and did that, entirely on their own. On the other hand, they could have chosen to act differently; they could have had the maturity to understand that not everyone else in the world loves their religion or its founder, and that once in a while one of those people is going to insult Islam.

There’s only one phrase to describe all of this: “Religionistic immaturity.” Immaturity on the part of America’s Neocrusaders, including “Sam Bacile,” who can’t handle the fact that Islam exists and who feel the need to throw tantrums over it; and on the part of the rioting Muslims, who can’t handle the fact that people of other religions might say something bad about Islam and who likewise throw tantrums of their own.

Folks … the human race can no longer afford this kind of deeply-ingrained, culturally-perpetuated immaturity. Muslims need to fucking grow the hell up and deal with the fact that not everyone likes their religion. By the same token, Christians need to fucking grow the hell up and stop being enraged that other people have rejected their faith. This kind of wanton childishness in the name of God really needs to stop.

Just. Fucking. Stop. OK?

Update: In their ongoing effort to show how childish they can be, rioting Muslims in Egypt have entered the U.S. embassy compound tonight (cached). Well done, Muslims. You’re on your way to invading and capturing yet another American embassy. Yessirree, everyone is now sure to conclude that yours truly is “the Religion of Peace.” Yep. No doubt about that! You all must be so proud of yourselves! </sarcasm>
